HMG created an engaging online contest for Cost Plus World Market to generate awareness and consumer interaction and build specialty retailer’s consumer database. Consumers were asked to create a unique and inspired design for CPWM’s new eco-friendly tote bag and upload their masterpieces to a contest microsite. A digital engagement campaign was activated to generate word of mouth and drive entries. The winning bag will be featured as a limited-edition item at all Cost Plus World Market stores during the retailer’s “Discovery Days” in 2010. Winner will also receive a $1,000 World Market gift card.

Results
The Cost Plus World Market Tote Bag contest site had over 65,000 visitors, over 222,000 page views and received over 1,600 amazing tote bag submissions.
